Get Involved With DYC

The Diocesan Youth Advisory Council has been hard at work creating a digital conference that is engaging for the youth across the diocese, but we need your help. This year’s conference is scheduled for April 23-25, and our theme is “Anchored: Faith, Hope, and Love.”

We would love for anyone to send in a video (30 seconds max) answering one or all (3 separate 30-second videos) of the following questions:

1. What is faith?

2. What is hope?

3. What is love?

These can be sent from youth in the diocese, youth ministers, priests, deacons, sisters, or anyone else who wants to share their thoughts and we encourage you to invite them all to take part in this opportunity.

Also, if you are aware of existing digital content, either original or available through outside sources, that aligns with our theme, please share that with us so we can work to include that on the DYC website.  Your assistance in helping us gather and curate content will ensure a more robust and successful event. This opportunity, forced by the pandemic, gives us the ability to create a truly Diocesan-wide youth conference but in order to accomplish this, we need your help!

Because this year’s Conference is digital, we’re hoping for 100% parish participation!  The best way to encourage your youth to take part in this year’s DYC is to invite them to provide their own video or to team up with other youth and create content to share with the entire Diocese.  Encourage them to get creative by writing a theme-related song or poem, making a TikTok or PowerPoint, or whatever else might be shared electronically. We are asking for content from you, your youth group, and other willing parishioners that displays one or more of the aspects of the conference (being Anchored in Faith, Hope, and Love). We would need them by March 20, 2021, so we can review them prior to the conference.
